Our logo is designed to represent the idea that people working to accomplish a goal need a friend, some support- a fairy. Many children put in countless hours to achieve the perfect cartwheel but they may need someone to explain the mechanics, to hold legs up, to demonstrate hand placement. Goals are rarely achieved alone.
People occasionally view asking for or needing help as a failure or weakness. It is not. Asking for help is an opportunity for both you and the person who helps. Many people are ready and willing to assist those who need a helping hand, motivation or even education.
"Cartwheel Fairy" also has the characteristic of being an anagram. An anagram is the rearrangement of letters to create new words or phrases. The letters in our namesake can be used to form "Charity" and "Welfare."
Unfortunately there are sentiments in this world that things like charity and welfare are harmful and abused. Here is how we define these terms:
Charity is generosity and helpfulness especially toward the needy or suffering.
Welfare is the health, happiness, and fortunes of a person or group.
Our organization is certainly centered around helping people in need, but ultimately our goal is to give people the resources and tools they need to rebound and succeed on their terms. They can, in turn, become Cartwheel Fairies.
We have engaged in countless Cartwheel Fairy projects but here are a few of our focuses:
Helping low-income families with housing costs by keeping our rental properties well below market rates and providing financial assistance to buy necessities.

Free business and financial education to entrepreneurs, families, individuals, and other organizations.
Sponsoring education and housing costs for foreign students to study in the USA.
Contributions to other well recognized charitable organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House, Make a Wish Foundation, The Road Home, and contributions to local educational institutions.

Sometimes it is often simpler to give money to an existing charity when you compare the time and effort it takes to orchestrate your own charitable initiatives. Giving to a 501(c)(3) organization allows your to deduct your charitable contributions from your taxes. That's good for both you and the charity.
But what if you could get that tax benefit and have some say regarding how your money is used? With a charity like Cartwheel Fairy you can have your cake and eat it too: We can facilitate charitable giving to causes you are personally passionate about. Not only that, but by utilizing a charity like ours, you can retain some anonymity, if you desire.
Donating to a 501(c)(3) organization can have a range of benefits, including both personal and societal ones. Here are some of the primary benefits (this is the dry boiler plate type of stuff, but it is important):
Remember, while these benefits are significant, it's important to do some research before donating to make sure the organization is legitimate and uses its funds responsibly. Tools like Charity Navigator or the IRS's own nonprofit search tool can help you confirm that an organization is indeed a registered 501(c)(3).
